The National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit endeavours to reduce the impact of drugs on the school population by:
- Conducting peer helpers workshops for students
- The formation of anti-drug clubs
- Providing educational materials on alcohol and substance abuse
- Conducting training camps for students
- Providing support for anti-drug clubs
- Periodic review of life skills and drug education curriculum and evaluation of students
- Supervision or per-school anti-drug efforts
- Teaching drug e\prevention in early childhood education
- Conducting training programmes for teachers
- Producing curriculum materials for secondary schools
- Conducting youth and parent encounter workshops
