School Prevention Programme

The National Drug Abuse Prevention Unit endeavours to reduce the impact of drugs on the school population by:

  • Conducting peer helpers workshops for students
  • The formation of anti-drug clubs
  • Providing educational materials on alcohol and substance abuse
  • Conducting training camps for students
  • Providing support for anti-drug clubs
  • Periodic review of life skills and drug education curriculum and evaluation of students
  • Supervision or per-school anti-drug efforts
  • Teaching drug e\prevention in early childhood education
  • Conducting training programmes for teachers
  • Producing curriculum materials for secondary schools
  • Conducting youth and parent encounter workshops
